Bolu kukus or steamed sponge cake or steamed cupcake is the one steamed cake that I like. I know this cake since I was child. Yes, my Mom or my family like to make it. At that time I did not know that this cake have a challenge to make. How to make this cake open up until three or four buds?
Yup it's my third. At the first time with my happiness I made it, success, bolu kukus had open up three or four buds everywhere. But there was chocolate bolu kukus. Another day I wanna make colourfull bolu kukus, it's my second time. But you know what happened? I didn't know why, there's not open it up :( Yeah my heart felt a little bit sad cause I cann't. But when I read some experiences of my friend at mailing list, there are quite friends. So I was not alone make something fail.
Today, when the topic of bolu kukus comes again at mailing list. My feeling going through at that topic. My feeling said that "I have to make it, and no fail today!". Yes, after my course then lunch together with my friend then I come back to my kitchen with the bolu kukus ingredients. Use my feeling that will sucess, I made it, the third one. One by one. And I just made 6 bolu kukus. Yes there was my trial. I wanna bring it to my daughter. I wanna give it to her when I pick her up. Cause everyday she 'll ask "Mom waht's snack you bring today?"
Ok, today is bolu kukus.
You know what happened today in my kitchen?
Yes there are six bolu kukus with 4 buds. And I used pandan paste. Trararararaa... I was not fail again. Thanks for Mrs. Lisa Basuki who posted about the steps to make Bolu kukus. Enjoy my bolu kukus with the pictures ;)

I used electric steamer to steam this cake. You have to make sure before you put the batter inside that you already have many fumes. When you used electronis steamer like mine, you can see when this cake rising up. And maybe you ll also see if you ll be fail, the cake will not raising up.
