Cukup lama mencari cookies coklat yang begini, renyah di luar trus di dalemnya rada chewy. Bikinnya gak terlalu susah bin ribet. Trus sekeluarga pada doyan. Buka buka buku, trus pilih pilih mana yang sekiranya cocok seperti yang diinginkan. Wal hasil jatuhlah pada resep "Chocolate Wows" kali ini.
Bener, satu cookie walaupun ukurannya besar, gak akan cukup. Mesti ketagihan, lagi dan lagi. Apalgi ditambah dengan hazelnuts di dalamnya. Makin membuat tanda tanya deh. Silakan di coba, pasti ketagihan deh.
Alhamdulillah, suami juga suka. Padahal biasanya gak begitu suka cookie yang ada bangsa nuts di dalamnya. Tapi untuk kali ini beliau suka, bahkan kepingin di bikinin lagi. Satu tupperware besar, ludes sekejap. Suami suka, aku suka, anak suka, dan khadimat juga suka, alhamdulillah, laris maniiiiiiiiiiissss....
Enak juga dimakan dengan di celupin ke susu dulu. Urel, anakku, sukanya di celupin dulu ke susu. Yum yummmmm ... mau lagi maaa...

After one bite of these decadent cookies, you will understand why we call them "Wows".
Chocolate Wows
original recipe from Good Housejeeping Favorite Recipes
PREP: 20 minutes plus cooling; BAKE: 13 minutes per batch; MAKES: about 48 cookies.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup all purpose flour,
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa,
1 teaspoon baking powder,
1/4 teaspoon salt,
8 squares (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate, chopped,
1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick),
3/4 cup sugar,
2 large eggs,
1 1/2 teaspoons
vanilla extract,
2 cups pedans (8 ounces), chopped, -> I used hazelnuts,
1 package (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup).
Method :
- Preheat oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit. Grease two large cookie sheets. In small bowl , combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
- In heavy 2-quart saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring frequently, until smooth. Remove from heat; cool.
- In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat sugar, and eggs until light and lemon colored, about two minutes, frequently scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Reduce speed to lo. Add cooled chocolate mixture, flour mixture, and vanilla; beat just until blended. Increase speed to medium; beat 2 minutes. WIth wooden spoon, stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
- Drop batter by rounded teaspoons , 2 inches apart, on prepared cookie sheets. With small metal spatula, spread batter into 2-inch rounds. Bake until tops are shiny and cracked, 13-15 minutes, rotating cookie sheets between upper and lower oven racks halfway through baking. Cool 10 minutes on cookie sheet on wire racks. With wide spatula, transfer cookies to racks to cool completely.
- Repeat woth remaining batter.
Tips:
Lemari pendingin menurutku sangat membantu dalam proses pembuatan cookie ini. Karena batter yang cenderung rada mbeleber/encer maka setelah di cetak diatas cookie sheets bila dibiarkan menunggu untuk di oven akan mbeleber kemana-mana. Alangkah lebih amannya bila sedang menunggu pemanggangan berikutnya dan sudah di cetak di cookie sheet, tunggulan di dalam lemari pendingin. Aku melakukannya demikian, and it's done. Berhasil, alhamdulillah.
Each cookie: about 102 calories, 1 gr protein, 9 gr carbohydrate, 7 gr total fat (3 gr saturated), 14 mg cholesterol, 45 mg sodium.
